The 576 System was designed to use our proven line of digital telephones which have been used by over a million customers in the United States. As the main interface to the 576's many functions, you can count on these phones to bring the 576 System to life!
Panasonic boosted the capacity of their DBS line with the new DBS 576. A digital hybrid/PBX, the modular DBS is configurable several ways and supports up to 576 universal ports. One of the larger configurations lets you build a switch with 288 lines and 288 stations (the switch expands in 8-port increments). If you already own a DBS, you can upgrade it to the larger 576 and use many of your existing phones, and other hardware (some cabinets, station cards, etc.), on the new system.
The DBS 576 features a call recording capability. A voice storage card (that installs in the cabinet) has its own hard drive and stores up to 40 hours of conversations. It can be used three ways: you can have it set to automatically record a conversation when you answer a call; start recording when you press a buttonon your phone; or be set to monitor and record a conversation from the beginning.
An optional ACD (in the form of a cabinet add-in card) is available for the DBS 576. One card supports two ACD groups and 32 agents per group (but one cabinet supports two cards, so you can get a maximum of four agent groups and 128 agents on one switch). Supervisors and ACD agents can use the large screen display on their phones to monitor calls in queue, log on and off the system, and perform other ACD functions.
Panasonic's new PC Phone is a TAPI-compliant, PC add-in card that turns your desktop computer into a digital station set. It ships with the Maximizer Contact Management software. You can dial out from Maximizer contact records and, with caller ID, have clients records screen pop on your PC with incoming calls. You can use a multimedia PC and listen to calls on PC speakers while using a microphone to speak through. Or, use a headset or handset with the PC Phone. The DBS 576 costs about $400 to $500, per station, depending on configuration and options.
Panasonic's DBS 576 supports Automatic Route Selection (ARS). ARS automatically chooses the least expensive line to send calls. You can also use digital lines like ISDN and T-l on the DBS 576. A PC-based attendant console is available, and DSS/BLF units for sets can also be used.
